TED Talk x Dialogue: Social Solutions to Mental Health

Description
With mental health issues on the rise (1 in 3 Malaysians are currently struggling with related problems), many governments, research facilities and pharmaceutical companies are taking notice and administering initiatives to help the public.

But beyond the pills and the genetics, are we able to take our own steps in improving our well-being? Can we erase the stigma of these individuals being a problem to fix, and instead contribute to being part of a global/community solution with them?

“The solution to these problems does not lie in drawing more and more on your resources as an isolated individual -- that's partly what got us in this crisis. It lies on reconnecting with something bigger than you.” - Johann Hari

Join us in our TED Talk x Dialogue session as we watch, debate as well as discuss the concept of social inclusion, and to actively improve the way we think about what makes us happier.

TED Talk: This could be why you're depressed or anxious | Johann Hari
In a moving talk, journalist Johann Hari shares fresh insights on the causes of depression and anxiety from experts around the world -- as well as some exciting emerging solutions. "If you're depressed or anxious, you're not weak and you're not crazy -- you're a human being with unmet needs," Hari says.
